Domaine patrice Moreux

Vin-blanc-(sec)

Grape variety  : Sauvignon Blanc
Degree  : 12.5 % vol.
Origin  : France
Name  : Sancerre Blanc

The origins of our estate date back to 1677, when Edme Corty laid the foundations for a small estate in Pouilly. For his part, André Moreux purchased his first vineyard in 1702, but on the other side of the Loire, in Sancerre. Neither of them could have imagined that their love of wine and the land would span more than 300 years of history and be passed down through twelve generations!

These origins therefore explain our presence today in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation, more specifically in Les Loges, and in the Sancerre appellation in Chavignol. These two appellations, the world’s leading producers of Sauvignon Blanc, were united in 1955 through the marriage of Jeannine Corty and Raymond Moreux, direct descendants of Edme and André. Their parents gave them a 4.5-hectare vineyard, ‘La Loge Aux Moines’, as a wedding present.

Today, this wonderful story continues with their sons, Arnaud and Julien Moreux, who have been working at the family estate since 2009 and 2011 respectively.

Our estate is certified as Level 3 High Environmental Value (HVE3).

In every bottle from the Corty / Moreux vineyards, you will taste, above all, a passion, a mastery of the craft, a constant quest for authenticity, and a philosophy where nature reigns supreme, leaving no room for any chemical processing or the use of external yeasts. Fermentation is natural and our wines are produced with the utmost respect for the terroirs.

: Have your say

Jancis Robinson, 2022 vintage, 90/100: A combination of fresh white fruit and the character of a spring meadow
with restrained creaminess and stony acidity, makes this full-bodied Sancerre easy to drink. Lively acidity with a zesty and surprisingly long finish.
